Common questions
Can my floor be refinished, or is it too far gone?
Most can. Wood floors can usually be sanded several times over their life. The limit is how much thickness is left above the nails, and we can check that in a few minutes on site.
How much dust is there?
Less than people expect. We use dust containment on the sanders, but no system is perfect, so we seal off the rooms we are not working in.
How long before I can walk on it?
It depends on the finish we use and the weather. We give you the actual timeline with the quote, and we tell you before we start, not after.
Do I have to move out?
Usually not, but you do need to stay off the floor while it cures. On a whole-house job most people plan to be somewhere else for a few days.
Can you match a repair to the rest of the floor?
Yes. We replace damaged boards with the same species and blend them in during sanding, so the patch disappears under the finish.
Do you install tile as well?
Yes. Floors, bathrooms and backsplashes. Tile that keeps cracking usually means the surface underneath was never right, so we start there.
